Those looking for a high quality monitor at low prices will be well served by them. Of course, those looking to spend more for features can also find some great monitors. PC display technology hasn't changed all that much in the past few years. The same LCD panel technology and CCFL backlights are still used in the majority of displays. As such, the somewhat dated Hanns-G Hi-221DPB offers a good overall if dated display at a very competitive price. Prices range from as low as $150 up to $180. The 22-inch panel uses the 16:10 aspect ratio with a 1680x1050 resolution. Brightness and contrast ratios are good as response times are quick a 5ms. It doesn't feature a newer HDMI port but does come with both a DVI-D and VGA connector. There are built-in 1W stereo speakers. Of course, to reduce costs, the screen only features a tilt adjustment and just a VGA cable.
